JOB SUMMARY:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring a high level of quality in our products by creating, improving and implementing robust manufacturing, test and inspection processes and holding our manufacturing partners accountable to them. In addition, the Quality Engineer works with our internal Purchasing and Development departments to manage existing and new products to ensure that they arrive in our customers' hands on time with an excellent level of quality that delights our customers.
The ideal candidate has experience working with domestic and international regulatory compliance. Experience manufacturing consumer products is essential. A background in QA test and inspection development is also very important. Experience working with international manufacturing partners in the Far East is critical.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop and maintain controlled manufacturing systems and processes designed to provide high quality products.
2. Coordinate with Purchasing and Product Development to ensure that production schedules are kept and supported.
3. Work with our manufacturing partners to ensure capabilities, capacity, processes, and quality are capable of meeting current and future needs.
4. Implement a manufacturing test system with a goal of improving overall product quality and minimizing “defects”.
5. Evaluate and recommend appropriate level of development resources to execute product plan efficiently on an ongoing basis.
6. Work with Marketing and Purchasing teams to develop forecasts for long-lead components.
7. Ensure that we have a good balance of manufacturing load across our manufacturing sub-contractors and develop contingency strategies that can be used as back-up plans in the case of delivery issues with suppliers or manufacturers.
8. Schedule time efficiently to provide cost effective job performance. Initiate and respond to all related job tasks in a timely manner. Assume responsibility for own actions.
9. Initiate and continue professional growth. Participate in training programs with passion to apply acquired knowledge into practice
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
-Bachelor of Science or higher, preferably BSCE, BSEE, BSME or BSIE.
-Two to five years of consumer products manufacturing experience.
- Experience in ISO 9000 or similar Quality standards and ability to implement those standards.
- Experience working with RF electronics or injection molding.
- Experience with QA test and inspection plan development.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office programs, Project or other project management software. Engineering software knowledge is a plus.
