Quality Engineer

About the Job

Sterling Engineering Inc. is assisting a premiere customer
in the search for an experienced Quality Engineer. This individual will need
previous experience in a manufacturing facility and must be committed to
producing high quality products.



 



Responsibilities include:



· Perform internal audits of operations and process control
plans in accordance with ISO requirements



· Effectively analyze and root cause quality problems;
develop and implement corrective action plans and improvements to products and
processes



· Prepare, review and implement material/mfg process ECNs as
required to support continual production



· Develop PPAP submittal information for projects as
required, including identification of critical characteristics, control plans,
PFMEAs, flow charts, gauge selection and development, gauge R&Rs,
inspection criteria and visual aid development



· Participate in product design reviews and identify
problems and solutions related to measurability, performance, reliability and
feasibility



· Interface with technical staff of customers and/or
suppliers as required to address quality problems and/or customer complaints



· Work as a key player within a team comprised of
Engineering, Materials and Production staff to develop and implement effective
supplier quality assurance plans



 



Preferred Background and Skills



 



Education: BS degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or
Manufacturing Engineering with five+ years experience



·  Detailed knowledge
of interpretation of mechanical drawings; understands mechanical inspection



·  Working knowledge
of mechanical/electrical metrology e.g., CMM software, gauges and handheld
instruments.



·  Working experience
with Quality Systems - ISO-9000 specifications and processes



·  Understand and
effectively utilize quality tools, i.e., QMS, SPC, auditing, inspection,
process analysis, process mapping, process controls and project management



·  Effective
reporting, writing and presentation skills; ability to communicate effectively
throughout all levels of the organization



·  Ability to follow
direction, work independently or within a group, and provide timely feedback on
projects as directed



·  Willing to work on
the shop floor and dive into problems; hands on repair experience a plus



·  Strong working
knowledge of GD&T



·   Proficiency in
Microsoft Office/Excel
