Our client is an industry leader in the manufacture and distribution of high precision industrial products to the aerospace, defense, communications, computer, healthcare and instrumentation industries. Their products are found in the following markets: military and civil aircraft (airframe and engine); missile systems and other defense programs; machine tools; computers and electronics; alternative energy; and biomedical and healthcare markets.


 


We have been hired to locate an industry professional to take the role of Quality Engineer


 


Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for data collection, data collection systems and analysis with a focus on reduction of internal defects and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering in technical investigation of quality issues, assist inspection, manufacturing and engineering in the disposition of non-conforming material, investigate root cause to resolve issues relative to product quality, develop new approaches to solving problems identified during quality assurance activities, and define and track quality assurance metrics.


Requirements:



  • Must have high-precision metal working background.
  • Successful candidate must hold BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Must have Quality Engineering experience and/or 3-5 years machining experience.
  • Must have working knowledge of process capability studies, statistical process control, process FMEA’s and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA).
  • Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) is also required. 
  • Strong familiarity with roundness, surface texture, form measurement, and geometric dimensioning/tolerancing (GD&T) is required.
  • Solid mathematical, analytical and communication skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Materials knowledge and experience in heat treating and plating are a plus.
  • Exhibit initiative, creativity, flexibility and strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a small multi-tasking, collaborative team environment.
