OVERVIEW:
Is accountable for those activities which have a bearing on product integrity and reliability through specific policies and procedures consistent with the overall objective of producing products of the highest possible quality.

The Quality Managers performance will be evaluated annually by the Plant Manager.  The annual appraisal includes a review and revision (if required) of the Quality Manager’s essential duties and responsibilities to ensure that the position is properly focused and that the incumbent is performing effectively.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Develop and maintain the plant Quality System.

As the QS9000/TS16949 Management Representative and document controller he/she will ensure that a quality system is established, implemented, and maintained in accordance to QS9000/TS16949.

Report on the performance of the Quality System to management for review, and as a basis for improvement of the Quality System.

Coordinate the activities of the Quality Assurance function.

Maintain effective supply base ensuring the quality of product and service meets or exceeds the requirements of Meritor LVS.

Develop, direct, and support the Quality Engineer(s)/Technician(s).

Assist in the training of the Quality Coordinators.

Assist in the development of the Production Teams.

Participate in the development of PCS/QCS’s (work instructions).

Maintain customer contacts.

Report the activities of the Quality Assurance function on a monthly basis.

Develop and maintain an internal auditing system.

Participate in the Customer Quality Systems Audits and the development of corrective action plans for deficient areas.

Investigate and report on all customer complaints and concerns.

Coordinate Plant Advanced Quality Planning activities, including prototype, pilot, and PPAP submissions.

Track plant quality metrics and report to plant management and the Director of Quality for LVS.

Participate in Hopkinsville management team activities.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 
Four year college or university degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
Five years related experience in the automotive industry preferred.
Knowledge of QS9000/TS16949 and Statistical Process Control.
Prior metallurgical experience preferred.
ASQC certification desired.
