QA Manager degree in microbiology biology chemistry etc. required with food experience for a plant specific assignment current QA Manager position being split in two vs. cover both plants.
GENERIC DESCRIPTION
ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
Organizes and directs the Quality Assurance and Food Safety activities to ensure conformance to established requirements regarding quality, safety, employee relations, productivity and cost, so as to consistently meet scheduling.
Assuring finished product meets the specifications requires knowledge of the raw product to be used, each step of the process, physical and chemical testing, and statistical methods. The ability to accurately monitor, improve, and audit requires knowledge of the procedures, specifications, and policies.
Continued vitality of the company through future growth, development of new products, new labels, and new technology will require coordination, testing for acceptability, assistance in installation, and training.
Coordination is required between the incumbent and other department managers including production, accounting, human resources, and maintenance.
Characteristics Required
1. Prior management experience
2. Degreed professional in Food Science and/or Business with a technical background.
3. Proactive and Action oriented - has the capacity to get things done through the focused effort of others while fostering a positive team spirit.
4. Complete knowledge of food processing systems from field to shipping or exposure to food processing systems with potential to learn the complete system quickly.
5. Ability to conform to scheduling requirements through effective planning and organizing of available resources. Has the ability to manage change and welcomes the opportunities and challenges associated with change.
6. Promotes an atmosphere of continuous improvement by creating a quality management system driven by reduction of waste and perfection
