Quality Manager

Metro Detroit production firm is seeking an experienced Quality Manager.  This position reports directly to the owner of this privately held firm and will be a valued member of the management team.   Local candidates only as relocation will not be considered.

The Quality Manager provides overall management, planning and direction over all aspects relating to quality in the production and inventory control functions of the company and must communicate on a regular basis with the Production Manager, Executive and Middle Management, Sales, Program Management, Purchasing, Engineering and Accounting departments regarding the status of quality within all production aspects of the company.  Primary responsibilities include achieving budgeted quality targets on a monthly and annual basis for manufactured components and assemblies.  The Quality Manager must maintain highly effective working relationships with other managers and develop and maintain effective and open communication with department heads, as exemplified by excellent on time delivery statistics and quality that consistently meets or exceeds customer expectations.

The successful candidate will have a bachelors degree in Engineering or Manufacturing with previous certified training in Metrology, Calibration, ISO9001:2000, 8D Root Cause/Corrective Action, 6 Sigma basics and Managerial Leadership with a minimum of 10 years experience in managing quality in a manufacturing (automotive, aerospace and military) environment and be optimistic and self-motivated.
