Quality Manager- Plastics/Composites

 

Develop, implement and monitor programs and procedures pertaining to all divisional quality issues and requirements. Provide leadership role in implementation of corrective actions.

 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

A summary of the essential functions of the position includes but are not limited to the following:

 

 

 

The ideal candidate will have experience in coordinating with Personnel, Management and Administration. 

Must be able to do the following assign work schedules and evaluate job performance, develop and administer budget within established guidelines.

 

The main function of this Develop and maintain quality manual and systems for operation.   Manage production quality systems and practices, while developing and maintaining production inspection criteria and complete teammate training of such. Establish and maintain receiving inspection procedures.  Develop specific quality policies for materials, accounts receivable/payable, sales and any additional function areas.  Complete system audits, and report on findings, coordinate corrective action. Working along side Engineering and manufacturing departments while developing quality standards manual and upgrade related documents.  Manage and maintain ISO implementation including policy development and teammate training.  Interface with customer in resolution of product quality problems and prepare determinations on non-conforming products i.e., scrap, rework, etc.  Notify suppliers of non-conformance issues and determine follow-up actions.  Maintain activities for tool and gage calibration program, including necessary documentation.  Certify inspection of received materials and verify with vender.  Maintain any other quality functions as outlined in quality manual.

 

A minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering.  Formal training in statistics and personal computers required. Training and background in implementing ISO/QS 9000 system required.

 

A minimum of 10 years progressively responsible background in areas of product/material testing, inspection quality assurance of plastics and misc. composite materials. Experience with ISO/QS 90002 and contemporary quality systems. Experience gained in plastics environment desirable. Strong interpersonal capabilities.

 

 

Individuals with LEAN manufacturing or Six Sigma skills that apply in a manufacturing environment will be seriously considered.
