Quality Specialist    Web Industries, Inc

Summary of Position:

• 
  
  Primary focus is actualization of Web Industries’ quality system with emphasis on continuous improvement. Achievement requires a sound working knowledge and experience with quality tools and an understanding of what is required to bring processes into control and keep them there. This position requires a solid basis in quality tools as well as a mastery of teamwork and training skills. Four years assisting a manufacturing facility achieve specific, measurable quality goals based on the international quality standards ISO 9001 and AS9100 is necessary.

Essential Functions:

• Work collaboratively with manufacturing to collect and analyze quality data with the goal of bringing processes into control and reducing variation. (Preventive action)


• Manage complaint response by bringing together the necessary members and assembling data to determine root cause and corrective actions necessary to eliminate the potential for similar complaints.


• Serve as backup Quality Management Representative (QMR) with attendant duties, responsibilities.


• Validate that standard work practices have been achieved between shifts by use of auditing and review of documentation.

Additional Functions:

• Train employees on new procedures, work instructions


• Coordinate/assist in resolution of nonconforming material


• Audit critical suppliers


• Perform statistical and graphical analysis of data


• Receive / review Supplier Certificates of Analysis against customer specifications


• Generate Certificates of Conformance that meet customer requirements
  

Requirements:

• Able to work collaboratively with a variety of disciplines, able to train people on use of quality tools 
  such as FMEA, Control charts, and others. Must be an effective communicator, understand
  excellent workmanship and how to achieve zero defects by consistent application of auditing,
  educating, and modeling quality at all levels in the organization. Understand how the proper    
  application of quality tools and principles can assist manufacturing in meeting their goals.
  

Education/Training/Experience:

• B.S. in technical discipline


• Min four years of quality responsibility in an industry registered to ISO 9001, AS9100


• Quality auditing experience with ISO 9001, AS9100 required; 14001 auditing experience a plus

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment with other disciplines

• Effective training/coaching skills


• Effective knowledge and use of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Power Point
  

Preferred:

• Ability to create/interpret graphs and charts


• Diplomacy wrapped in a firm commitment to quality, a deep understanding of what quality is, and why it is critical to an organization’s success


• Broad understanding of LEAN and how it relates to quality (especially with standards that go beyond ISO 9001)


• Determination of skill level will be made by interview and review of available records from previous employment, school, etc.
