Quality Technician - 2nd Shift

We are currently seeking a 2nd Shift Quality Technician to provide quality support to the manufacture of ev3 products with limited direct supervision.  The position will work with Operations personnel to ensure that ev3 products are manufactured in accordance with applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer requirements.


 


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES


 


·         Lead / assist investigations into non-conforming material including definition of scope, investigation into root cause, disposition of product, and implementation of corrective actions.


·         Use statistical tools to analyze test data. Use Statistical Quality Control software for data analysis.


·         Provide technical support for testing, qualifications, and validations.


·         Generate reports of activities.


·         Conduct process audits in accordance with internal/external requirements.


·         Assist in scrap evaluation and defect reduction.


·         Provide guidance to manufacturing through interpreting manufacturing / inspection procedures, engineering drawings, and component specifications.


·         Set-up and use standard measurement and gauging equipment.


·         Support efforts to deploy/troubleshoot automated vision inspection system


·         Comply with applicable FDA and international regulatory laws / standards and the ev3 Code of Conduct.


·         Other duties as assigned or required


 


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS


 


·         High School Diploma and two-year technical degree, or work experience in lieu of technical degree


·         Experience with basic statistical tools, e.g. average, standard deviation, control charts, and Cpk.


 


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


 


·         Medical device industry experience


·         Experience with software “Infinity” or similar SPC software


·         Good mechanical aptitude and methodical problem solving skills desirable.


 


POSITION REQUIREMENTS


 


·         Ability to take direction from multiple persons and work effectively with cross-functional team members.


·         Proficient computer skills and demonstrated competence to include word-processing, database applications, and spreadsheet in a network environment.


·         Strong communication skills


·         Demonstration of self-motivation and leadership skills.


·         Ability to manage time efficiently and multi-task.
