Job Description: Quality of Life Consultant (QOL) assumes responsibility for conducting quality assurance reviews for the Social Department and Activities Department in the assigned facilities. Quality of Life Consultant recommends resources in an efficient and economical manner to enable each resident to attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental or psychosocial well-being. The QOL Consultant documents findings and composes accurate, detailed reports of each facility review.

Licensure/Certification/Education Requirements: Minmum two (2) years college education with courses in recreation, education, social, other behavioral sciences or clinical services. Eligible for certification as therapeutic Recreation Specialist or an an Activitres professional by recognized accrediting body.

Other Training, Skills, and Experience Requirements: Two years experience in a social or recreational program within the past five year, with one full time employment in a patient activities or social services program in long term care. Or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Freedom from illegal use of drugs, and freedom from use and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace. Satisfactory results of a criminal history check, Office of the Inspector General Sanction Check, and satisfactory licensure validations (as applicable). Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting or mistreating individuals in a health care related setting are ineligible for employment in this position.
