1. Working with supplier base to establish and improve quality systems and reporting. Administers quality supplier rating system.
2. Ensuring quality of incoming products and manufacturing operations are per engineering design requirements.
3. Ensuring long-term corrective action is in place.
4. Performing qualification of Alpha rubber compound as needed.
5. Maintaining files of certification and other quality records as applicable. Ensures calibration of all Alpha instrumentation is maintained.
6. Trouble shooting quality problems that arise at customer’s site. Co-ordinates with Customer Technical Service, Manufacturing, and Engineering on these efforts. Key contributor to customer complaint process.
7. Monitoring the compliance to quality assurance policies and rules. Ensuring QA operations are effective, efficient, and performed on a consistent basis.
8. ISO 9001 compliance – ensures departmental compliance with all aspects of the standard ISO procedural documentation and uses suppliers that are ISO 9000 certified.
9. Reviewing procedures to prevent and determine errors in the process.
10. Instrument calibration performance approval – reviews production instrument performance data and approves before shipment. Co-ordinates supply of data to major customers were required and works with customers to obtain approval/release of units.
11. Support internal and external customers. Maintain good working relationships with other departments.
12. Supervision of quality technicians – setting work schedules and prioritites, performance reviews, employee development.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
1. Four year degree in technical field.
2. 8-10 years experience in the rubber or plastic industry involved with manufacturing or QA.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. ASQ Certification.
2. Certified Quality Engineer status.
