THE REQUIREMENTS
  • Prepares cost estimates of materials for internal and external customers. Compiles bill of materials utilizing knowledge of products to be manufactured. Itemizes tools, fixtures or equipment to be manufactured by company or purchased from outside sources. Consults with factories and representatives to obtain best-cost information. Computes cost estimates of materials, price escalation, and abnormal freight charges. Audits manufacturer's bill of material for accuracy and completeness and resolves any discrepancies. 
  • Conducts extensive research prior to submitting quotation that involves identifying customer requirements and performance standards, determining product specifications and researching manufacturing alternatives.
  • Conducts ongoing analysis of competitor's products and services in an effort to identify strategic opportunities that will enhance the organization's overall ability to compete in the market.
  • Completes and submits accurate and thorough technical quotations against tight deadlines established by customers based on technical specifications required by customer.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Education: Equivalent to High School Diploma plus two years college preferred.

Experience: Minimum of one to three years of related experience communicating and negotiating with customers, suppliers, and/or manufacturers.

Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of multiple product lines and pricing strategies required to generate quotations. Knowledge of SAP programs used to support the Quotations process preferred. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel with proficient mathematical skills. Excellent oral and written communication and relationship-building skills required to gain cooperation from diverse groups, including customers, suppliers, manufacturers, and sales representatives. Strong organizational and time management skills required to manage large, multiple projects on a daily basis.


NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE

8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; Some overtime required
