Jersey City based Technology Engineering firm has a new opening for a RCDD/OSP Structured Cable Engineer/Project Manager in the Reading, PA area. Structured Cable Engineers support the design, acquisition, implementation, maintenance, and administration for the structured cable environment. Structured Cable Engineers specialize in voice and data cable systems, pathways, communication rooms, and outside cabling plant. This position works closely with Senior Management in the design and construction phases.
Qualified applicants are expected to have an extensive working knowledge of the installation and maintenance of structured cable systems, duct banks, manholes, aerial runs, point of entry rooms etc... Requirements for this position include:
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Candidate Must Have 5+ years Experience in Design/Engineering of the Technology Disciplines of:
Structured Cabling Systems (RCDD)
Outside Plant (OSP)
• Posses Excellent Verbal and Written Skills.
• Candidate Must Have Experience Preparing RFP’s for Structured Cable bids.
• Knowledge of standards such as EIA/TIA, BICSI, ANSI, NEC and local building code requirements etc...
• Knowledge of inside and outside cable infrastructure standards for fiber and copper campus systems.
• Experience (5+ years) and knowledge in utilization of project management and documentation software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Visio, Project).
• Experience (5+ years) and knowledge in interpretation of building construction, electrical, and infrastructure blueprints
• Must have experience in producing weekly meeting minutes and holding assignees’ accountable
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS AND PERSONALITY QUALIFICATIONS:
The individual should possess strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with timely response requirements. Highly motivated individual having experience interfacing with Architects, Site Civil Engineers, Local Exchange Carriers, General Contractors, Building/facility Managers and Information Technology decision makers is a must. Integrity, Reliability and Tenacity takes initiative and good independent judgment. Must have the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships. Ability to effectively lead a team concerned with the best interest of the company and to work well in a team environment.
