INTERNATIONAL FOOD COMPANY IS CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR A:
POSITION TITLE: AREA SALES MANAGER (ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT)
REPORTS TO: REGION VICE PRESIDENT
Salary Range - $85-95K + 15% Bonus and a Company Vehicle.
Location – Individual can be based out of any part of Southern CA (Preferably San Diego or Los Angeles)
Paid Relocation - Yes, Eligible - Small Sign on Only.
POSITION OBJECTIVE: To continue to grow profitability within the District by meeting customer needs and by providing the highest customer perceived quality and services in the sales of products to the industrial food manufacturing industry. This person will be responsible for a Territory encompassing (WY, CO, UT, NM, AZ, NV, Central Valley CA south to San Diego CA) and would be responsible in acquiring, developing new and pre-existing accounts selling Industrial Ingredient Products to Food Manufacturing Companies.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Bachelor’s Degree in food science or related discipline or equivalent experience.
Five years of professional level sales experience in the industrial/wholesale food industry.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong PC, word processing and spreadsheet skills.
Excellent planning, organization and problem solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a customer focused environment.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle with safe driving record.
DESIRABLE SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
MBA preferred.
Oral and written bi-lingual language.
OTHER FACTORS
Frequent traveling (more than 50%) is required for this position.

KEY RESULT AREAS: PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
Sales Forecast sales on a regular basis as required. Develop and achieve Earnings Before Income Tax (EBIT) budgets to then analyze monthly and take appropriate action. Promote Company image. Ensure pricing requests and terms and conditions procedures are being followed prior to customer confirmation.
Expense Control Develop and achieve sales expense budgets to ten analyze monthly and take appropriate action. Monitor and recommend distribution efficiencies.
Asset Control Meet annual established customer Day Sales Outstanding (DSO) targets. Review equipment needs annually; recommend appropriate action to VP Sales. Liaise with A/R Department to reduce /minimize past due accounts.
Customer Satisfaction Proactively seek out potential customer concerns or issues and develop action plans to resolve concerns or issues in a timely manner. Respond and react to customer complaints immediately with appropriate action. Customer complaint procedures followed for all customer complaints. Respond to customer requests in a professional and timely manner.
Professional Skills Obtain and enhance sales training annually in at least one of the following areas: product
Enhancement knowledge (AIB or company product seminar, technical bulletins), selling skills, personnel management, computer skills, or regulatory compliance.
Market Intelligence Complete weekly reports as required. Complete customer contact reports for key customers and submit via Quality Assurance (QA) Database within two business days of call. Report share of market changes accurately to VP Sales/Corporate Offices as they occur. Complete share of market report as directed. Complete accurate Competitive Activity Reports, as required.
Position Charter – DISTRICT SALES MANAGER
KEY RESULT AREAS: PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
New Product Sales Follow new product development approval process. Identify new product potential, which is germane to our business. Achieve targeted growth coming via new product application or new customers.
Inventory Control Complete quarterly Sales Forecasts as required with a 3% accuracy measurement. Provide written notification of new business/loss and customer requirements to Customer Service, Marketing & Manufacturing immediately.
Human Resources Comply with HR policies and procedures. Comply with relevant employment laws.
