Job Description

Compass Group North America has an immediate opening in our Canteen Vending Services division in the Long Island territory. This high-energy position requires significant cold calling (hunter position), the ability to create a need for change and strong closing skills. Vending machine services (cold beverages, snacks, coffee and fresh food) are targeted for placement in all market segments, including: Business & Industry, Healthcare, Education, Public Access and Corrections.


 


Our consultative selling process requires: 1) Identification of Buying Criteria, 2) Elimination of Objections and 3) Development of Customized Solutions.  This professional, top-performer must be an organized, self-starter who is able to work independently. This is not a “management” position.


 


We offer a competitive compensation package including: base salary, commission, quarterly and year-end bonus, health benefits, stock bonus program, expense account and company vehicle.


 


Recipe to Succeed:




  • 2+ Years of Documented Success in Outside Sales (Not Account Management)


  • Cold Calling, Prospecting and Discipline to Develop Markets


  • Solid, Demonstrated Closing Skills


  • High Energy, Positive Attitude


  • Effective Demonstration of Sales Process / Methodology


  • Aptitude to Identify Decision Maker(s) and Ascertain Buying Criteria


  • Exemplary Writing, Listening, Communication and Presentation Skills


  • Strong Time Management & Territory Development Skills (Multi-Task)


  • Analytical Ability to develop Proformas, P&L’s and Manage Overhead Budget


  • Computer Skills (CRM, Adobe, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word)


 


Necessary Ingredients:


 




  • This home or office based position requires a four-year college or university degree or equivalent experience 
  • A writing sample and documented success in the selling profession will be required; along with an assessment profile
  • Individuals with experience selling copiers, coffee services, office supplies, yellow page advertising, or similar “services” are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Experience selling a service is preferable; although not mandatory
  • Overnight travel may be required from time-to-time for regional and/or national meetings
