RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

About the Job



Position:              Residential Construction Manager (Field Manager)

Objective:               Effectively manage residential construction and warranty operations to construct up to 20 homes at a time by adhering to an established, proprietary operating system.  Ensure all homes built in a safe and orderly work environment in accordance with company quality standards, schedule and yield metrics, and budget while achieving company customer satisfaction goals and maintaining the company’s professional and responsive reputation with our business partners and the communities where we build.

Reports to:              Area Construction Manager

Supervises:              All trade partners as well as other staff as required.

Qualifications:

§         Unquestionable integrity and moral courage.  An ethical leader.

§      5+ years of residential construction experience to include job site supervision, estimating   and value engineering.  Can demonstrate strong construction functional knowledge.

§    Organized, proactive, excellent people skills, driven.  Comfortable working within a high pressure, dynamic work environment.

§      Can demonstrate proficiency with Excel, Outlook, and one or more construction scheduling systems.  BuildPro/Hyphen experience a plus.

§         Construction Management degree a plus.

§         Background check and drug tests required.

§         TX – City of Galveston

§         TX – Galveston County, Brazoria County, Matagorda County and surrounding areas

Detailed Job Tasks:

  1. Trade Partner Management
    1. Ensure a safe and orderly job site and that each home is constructed according to plan and on schedule.
    2. Foster and maintain a mutually beneficial working relationship between our trade partners and the company.  Proactively manage conflicts.
    3. Hold trade partners accountable for performance and provide training as necessary to ensure the trade partner’s ability to successfully operate within company expectations.
    4. Solicit feedback from trade partners on areas for improvement on product, process or systems.
  2. Customer Satisfaction
    1. Proactively resolve homeowner conflicts and ensure the construction process is a positive experience for each of our homeowners through communication and be responsive.  Ensure the neighbors around our jobsites view our performance as positive as well. 
    2. Ensure proper expectations are set for homeowners and neighbors at the outset of the process.
    3. Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner at all times (on and off the job site).
