RF Antenna Engineer

Division Overview: Communication Systems-West (CSW), a division of L-3 Communications, is a leader in defense electronics for strategic and tactical military operations. Position Profile: The senior RF antenna engineer will provide technical expertise in the design and analysis of innovative antennas. He/She will be responsible for leading creative antenna proposals, research, specifications, designs, product development and test. The engineer will develop relationships with military labs, antenna manufacturers and RF test facilites that expand/maintain L-3 CSW's position in the market. Recommend and lead antenna IRAD efforts. Provide mentoring and training to lower level engineers in resolving complex design related problems.

Education/Experience: BSEE or MSEE degree in electrical engineering, PhD preferred, plus 10+ years additional relevant experience.

  • Required skills include antenna development for military applications including 1GHz and higher frequencies.
  • Candidate must have a proven track record of antenna designs that are currently in production.
  • Experience with a 3-D RF modeling tool such as CST Microwave Studio, Ansoft HFSS or Grasp is necessary.
  • Conformal antenna experience is a plus. Must be proficiencent with MS Word, Excel and Project software.

Must have great communications skills to expeditiously coordinate efforts through all phases of the manufacturing and engineering process while contributing in a high performance team environment to meet customer needs. Must be willing to work overtime and weekends when required
