Supports the RF equipment at a large scale 24X7 satellite operations center and performs as a lead on the shift. .Performs fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of the radio-frequency (RF) equipment used in large-scale satellite downlink and uplink operations; such as waveguide assemblies, cables, and fiber-optic systems. Performs component-level troubleshooting required on High-Power Amplifiers (HPA).
- Fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of the radio-frequency (RF) equipment used in large-scale satellite downlink and uplink operations; such as waveguide assemblies, cables, and fiber-optic systems.
- Performs component-level troubleshooting required on High-Power Amplifiers (HPA), fiber-optic systems, up converters, down converters, RF switching units, Antenna Control Units (ACUs), Low-Noise Amplifiers (LNAs) and Low-Noise Block Down converters (LNBs), and switching and/or monitoring audio/video equipment.
- Performs maintenance and repair on large transmit/receive and receive-only satellite antenna systems.
- Provide sketches of drawings required for equipment installation.
- Position requires shift work on three month shift rotation.
SKILLS
- System level and bench level electronics troubleshooting experience.
- Operational configurations awareness and routine preventative maintenance skills required.
- Must be able to perform shift work as a cohesive part of a team and with minimal supervision.
- The ability to read and interpret schematics, assemble wave guide systems, efficiently utilize sophisticated test equipment, perform documentation tasks, and successfully interact with management & engineers is a must.
EXPERIENCE
· 3+ years earth station systems experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Ability to lift 75 lbs.
· Ability to climb 39 foot antennas and maintain/repair satellite dishes.
EDUCATION:
· Degree in Electronics from an accredited college or technical school or two years of equivalent experience.
· Ability to work with mathematical concepts including algebra.
