We are currently recruiting for an experienced RN with an extensive background in risk and safety management for the position of Risk Manager/Patient Safety Officer. This important position plans, implements and oversees the Risk Management program, including all risk/legal issue reporting and the management of all liability claims and legal defense activities. Must be proficient in risk identification and investigation, as well as conducting effective root cause/ failure mode effect analysis. Will provide facility education regarding patient safety and assuring Hospital compliance with all safety related standards of the Joint Commission. Experience in handling insurance applications a plus. Maintains the Sentinel Events cabinet and is responsible for compliance with the JC National Patient Safety Goals.

Qualifications:
- Current / Valid California RN License
- BSN required (NLN accredited program)
- 2 years of successful clinical nursing practice
- At least 1 year (preferred) dealing with patient safety issues.
- Computer skills, including spread sheets, power point and graphs, project management experience, and data collection and analysis skills.

The position reports to the Sr. Director of Quality.
