Talecris Plasma Resources specializes in the collection of human plasma used in therapies that help people everywhere maintain and enhance their quality of life. Our Tuscaloosa Plasma Donor Center has an opportunity for an RN, LPN or Paramedic to serve as a Physician Substitute.
The selected individual will be responsible for ensuring initial donor suitability and eligibility as well as product integrity and the continued health of our donors. Will review donor medical histories; screen donors; conduct HCT, protein and related tests; perform any required injury, illness or medical evaluations; update donor files; assist management/administration with employee counseling, testing and follow-up to ensure complete safety; and build rapport with donors for long-term donation partnerships and complete confidentiality.
Position requires a licensed Paramedic, LPN or RN with current CPR certification and experience in medical care and patient assessments. Background working in a plasma or whole blood center is preferred. Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and comply with OSHA, CLIA and cGMP guidelines is essential.
