We are currently in search of a Nurse Manager of Surgical Services to join our patient care team.
The Surgical Service department within Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford consists of 8 Operating suites and instrument prep and pack functions. Our surgical department supports over 7,000 cases annually with an increasing focus on Orthopedics, and Cardiovascular procedures.
As Manager of Surgical Services, you will be responsible for the direction of patient care in the operative environment. This position will report directly to the Director of Surgery. Must demonstrate collaboration with surgical medical leadership as well as staff within the other Perioperative and nursing units. This position oversees the day to day management of a staff of 40 + FTEs and will build and maintain the operational and capital budget within established guidelines.
The ideal candidate must have demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining strong physician and staff relationships and proven experiences in redesign of surgical turnover. Must possess an attitude that fosters a positive cultural environment built around trust, respect and maintaining a safe environment.
Basic Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Valid RN license that allows practice in the state of Texas
- Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing
- 5 years clinical nursing experience in an Operating Room
- 2 years experience in an increasingly responsible leadership position in an Operating Room
- Previous surgical management experience
- Experience with Microsoft WORD and Excel
- The Ideal candidate will be actively involved with key professional and national organizations
Preferred Qualifications:
- CNOR preferred or must be obtained within one year of hire
- MSN preferred or must be willing to enroll and obtain degree upon employment
