The Real Estate Leasing Paralegal is responsible for reviewing, drafting and negotiating leases, amendments and other legal documents. Performs routine legal research as needed and provides legal support for special projects or assignments. Tracks critical date information related to store openings, closings and construction starts. Typically reports to Managing Attorney or Senior Real Estate Attorney. Must Possess the Ability to:



- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

- Handle a high volume of work in a timely manner with attention to detail

- Interact professionally with both internal and external clients/customers

- Draft and negotiate language related to landlord/developer or tenant lease forms

- Draft and negotiate general contracts, lease amendments, renewals or rent relief agreements

- Draft and negotiate estoppel certificates and subordination/non-disturbance agreements

- Command an understanding of business and legal concepts related to commercial leases

- Review lease files to answer business questions

- Paralegal certificate and bachelor's degree from accredited college

- A minimum of three years paralegal experience within a real estate leasing environment

- Experience with tenant representation and issues

- Ability to work within a fast-paced and high volume environment

- Excellent communication, professional and interpersonal skills

- Strong negotiation and drafting skills

- Ability to work within a team environment

- Ability to build effective relationships both internally and externally

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint and Outlook
