POSITION SUMMARY:
The position provides leadership, organization, and direction for the Real Estate Loan Servicing efforts with continuous developing and management of the Real Estate Loan Servicing staff. Keeping up to date on changes in the Real Estate Lending industry to assure the Credit Union continues to progress accordingly. It is the overall responsibility of the manager to ensure that the department and individual goals are developed and monitored along with assuring high quality member service.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
Assures that all day-to-day operations within the department functions are complete, processed with accuracy and on time. Develops and implements process and procedures for retention of real estate loans.
Manages the administration of the impound process, payment posting process, tax and insurance payment process, subordination process, records management, loan reporting and investor reporting process.
Sets goals, coaches, counsels, trains, audits, motivates, communicates with feedback, empowers, delegates, supports, models behavior, recognizes and rewards, evaluates performance, meetings, disciplines, and builds teamwork for the employees.
Handles member complaints, resolves problems, obtains member feedback, networks and builds relationships with members, educates and anticipates member needs, fulfills requests for service, keeps updated on policies and procedures, and facilitates empowerment.
Reviews and screens applicants, and recommends employees for transfer and promotions to other branches and departments. Schedules and monitors staffing levels, monitors upkeep and requests support services, manages attendance, and inputs payroll. Evaluates staffing needs, monitors and controls budget, monitors the use of supplies and equipment, and streamlines procedures to remove barriers.
Develops software specification for revision to FICS and Symitar software as needed to streamline operations and facilitate interface between systems.
Reviews appeals, modifies loans and exception requests, and cross-sells credit union products and services, per Vice President, Real Estate.
Attends meetings with peers, participates in in-house training, self-studies, participates in outside seminars, conferences, and classes, and participates in professional association.
Recommends, monitors and manages the operating budget for the department including any third-party related expenses ensuring that expenses are maintained within the annual business plan.
Performs the activities and projects as assigned and requested by the department Vice President.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required. A minimum of five year’s previous Credit Union, Banking, Mortgage Brokerage, and Real Estate Lending experience are essential. A minimum of two years supervisory experience is essential also.
