**DoD SECURITY CLEARANCE WILL BE REQUIRED**

 

 

A contract real-time software development position is available in the Wideband Tactical Networking group to join an interdisciplinary team building satellite and radio communications terminal prototypes.

 

A thorough understanding of an practical experience with ANSI C++ using the GNU toolchain (gcc/g++, make, gdb, etc.) on Linux is absolutely essential, as is a strong foundation in object oriented programming and real-time software development

 

At least 5 years of software development experience is required.

 

Good English/writing skills are required.

 

A degree in Computer Science or Electrical / Computer Engineering is strongly preferred.

 

Practical experience with any of the following are strongly preferred:

  • software defined radios
  • CORBA middleware,
  • IBM (formerly Telelogic) Rhapsody
  • UML 2.0
  • C++ STL
  • communications signal processing
  • experience working closely with DSP/FPGA digital designers

 

Familiarity and practical experience with the following is preferred:

  • bash shell scripting
  • TCP/IP networking
  • Linux kernel module development
  • OPNET and/or MATLAB
