Reference Laboratory Technician

Are you looking to make a difference?  If so consider joining the American Red Cross, the largest supplier of blood, plasma and tissue products in the United States.  The American Red Cross New York Penn Region is currently seeking a Reference Laboratory Technician to support our blood services division.  As a Technician you will be responsible for:

·        performing donor antibody identification on blood units with a positive antibody screening

·        phenotyping red cell units to maintain on shelf inventory of typed units

·        preparing frozen, washed red cells and other specialty products to maintain inventory and fill orders

Qualified candidates will possess an Associates degree in Medical Technology or related science and two to four years work experience in a clinical lab or some blood bank experience. A New York State licensure for a Medical Technologist is required.
