Reference Laboratory Technologist

Are you looking to make a difference?  If so consider joining the American Red Cross, the largest supplier of blood, plasma and tissue products in the United States.  The American Red Cross New York Penn Region is currently seeking a Reference Laboratory Technologist to support our blood services division.  As a Technologist you will be responsible for:

·        performing cross matching and phenotyping of blood units for patients as needed,

·        performing advanced level testing to resolve complex antibody identification problems

·        providing regional transfusion services with technical recommendations regarding patient transfusion therapy and serological techniques.

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or related science and two years work experience in a blood bank or blood center.  A New York State licensure for a Medical Technologist and a valid driver’s license are required.  Must be able to work independently, provide excellent customer service and be on-call.
