Responsiblities:
Alexion Pharmaceuticals Inc., located in Cheshire, CT, is a cutting-edge biopharmaceutical firm involved in the development of innovative therapeutic biologics. We recently received FDA approval for SOLIRIS™ (eculizumab). SOLIRIS™ is the first and only therapy approved for paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria, (PNH), a rare, disabling and life-threatening blood disorder characterized by chronic red blood cell destruction, or hemolysis. SOLIRIS™ is indicated for the treatment of all patients with PNH to reduce hemolysis. - Achieves or exceeds sales objectives in assigned territory.
- Develops strategically targeted account-specific business plans that reflect an in-depth understanding of local market forces impacting product sales.
- Execution of local promotional activities and programs for therapeutics areas.
- Lead the implementation for our customer-centric partnership model which will include physicians, their staff, patients, clinics, and hospitals.
- Lead cross-functional account teams to develop long-term relations with key accounts.
- Responsible for implementing reimbursement programs and services for physicians, patients, and patient care facilities.
- Creates, builds and maintains relationships with all key customers.
- Responsible for new account identification and development.
- Provides a high level of product expertise and customer service to all accounts
- Tracks activities and submits reports on sales activities.
- Provides ideas to improve product and company performance.
- Interacts with Alexion management to refine product and market initiatives.
- Demonstrates strong in-depth clinical, technical and scientific knowledge in complex disease state.
- Appropriately utilizes all marketing tools and resources including computer generated presentations.
- Effective administrator who efficiently manages time, resources and workload.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and organizational abilities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 plus years sales experience in pharmaceutical industry, with significant biotech experience preferred.
- Proven track record for delivering strong, consistent sales results.
- Experience in specialty injectable/infusion markets, with hematology/oncology or orphan drug preferred.
- Experience in launching a biopharmaceutical in the past 5 years.
- Experience in reimbursement and access for health care professional administered therapies.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of current product's clinical efficacy, articulate a value proposition for the customer
- Ability to work effectively in team-oriented environment as well as independently on a consistent basis.
- Ability to develop strong, professional relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully seek out new accounts.
- B.A./B.S. in business or scientific field is required.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.Ability to travel within territory on a regular basis which will include frequent overnight and weekend travel
