State Auto Insurance Company, an eighty-eight-year-old, A+ (Superior Rated) property-casualty insurance company has an opening for an experienced Regional Financial Officer to work in our Goodlettsville, Tennessee office.  The Regional Financial Officer (RFO) develops and analyzes management information to facilitate sales, operational, underwriting and pricing actions in the region. The RFO works with regional team to set and achieve targeted results. As liaison between the regional sales organization and finance, product, actuarial, project management and IT organizations, the RFO establishes and maintains collaborative and effective working relationships with these departments to advance regional objectives.

Qualified applicants must possess a solid understanding of insurance business financials and ability to quantify financial impact of various activities.  Business management, information reporting, and planning experience are beneficial.  Knowledge of property and casualty insurance (both business and personal), field sales and marketing structures, and an understanding of the sales management process are required.  A minimum three to five years insurance industry experience is necessary.  Five to seven years of proven financial/analytical leadership is required.  A Bachelors degree in finance or related field is also necessary.  Strong communication skills are required in order to present clearly ideas and concepts (orally and written) to management, regional staff, customers and other stakeholders. The ability to effectively negotiate with business partners while building/maintaining long-term relationships is also necessary.  Strong analytical skills are also required.  Solid data management skills including competence using Excel and Access are necessary.  Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects/tasks producing timely and quality results is also necessary.
