Regional Lead Service Engineers (Electrical & Mechanical)

The primary role of a Regional Lead Service Engineer is to lead a team of field Service Engineers in the technical support of wind turbine generator operations at facilities throughout North America.  Among the Service Engineers, the Regional Lead FSE is the field expert in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and tracking / trending for long term repairs.  Specifically:

·         Lead and provide Technical guidance and oversight of Service Engineers in perspective region.

·         Long term trending analysis for predictive maintenance.

·        Review of wind turbine systemic problems and technical support for ongoing construction, commissioning, maintenance, and service activities.

·         Develop and Perform functional testing, diagnostics, and trouble shooting on wind turbine operational equipment.

·         Perform Root Cause Analysis on major component issues.

·         Track Equipment and Component Failures for system trends.

·         Facilitate Technical Change Instruction implementation and validation by Service Engineers at local sites.

·         Provide and Document training on focused elements of WTG operation.

Travel Requirements: As a Service Engineer your area of responsibility will be an entire region (typically several states in size).  Most days you will be on-site at a wind farm in your region (typically near your home office), so you can expect to be home a good number of nights per week.  Occasionally (~25% of the time) you will be called to off-site projects in other regions for up to 1-2 weeks at a time.

Supervisory: Regional Lead FSEs have direct supervisory responsibility for a team of FSEs. 

Requirements:

Due to an aggressive growth strategy for its Field Engineering team, we requires candidates for these positions to have some field experience with the troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and/or engineering design of wind turbine systems.  Target levels of experience for a Service Engineer are:

• BS in Engineering (preferably Electrical, Mechanical, or related) with 1 year of wind turbine field experience; or Associates Degree (in technical / Engineering discipline) with 3+ years of wind turbine field experience. 
• You must demonstrate the ability to review, interpret, and follow switchboard/panel schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system algorithms. 
• You must be experienced in Mechanical/Electrical analyzing equipment, including - but not limited to - FLUKE Meters, Power Meters, Software Driven Diagnostic Tools, PLC interfaces. 
• Candidates being considered for Service Engineer (Mechanical) positions should be very familiar with bearings, lubrication, gearing and associated systems, pumps and mechanical equipment alignment. 
• Candidates being considered for Service Engineer (Electrical) positions should be very familiar with Medium Voltage systems (~600V) and associated electrical equipment. 
• You should demonstrate excellent analytical skills in the operational application of new technologies as well as problem solving of existing technologies. 
• The ability to work in a construction environment making use of established safety procedures and personal protective equipment is paramount. 
• Hands on applications will require ability to climb vertical ladders in wind turbine towers.

Salary:

Regional Lead Service Engineers: >$75K base salary (depending on experience)
