Regional Leader - Coastal and Eco-System Services

Professional Engineer licensed in the State of Louisiana or the ability to quickly receive reciprocity in Louisiana.

Candidate should have a minimum of a Masters Degree in Coastal Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program.

The Engineer shall have a minimum of 15 years of experience in the following areas:
Design and analysis of sediment dredging operations,
pipeline conveyance and slurry containment;
numerical studies of coastal processes including cross-shore (beach profile) modeling and restoration designs; shoreline modeling;
morphological modeling and wave modeling; preparation of inlet management plans;
design of coastal structures; and sediment/littoral budget analysis.
Hydraulic and hydrodynamic analysis experience in coastal inlets and coastal wetlands.

Job Description :
Regional Leader Coastal and Eco-System Services (Gulf Coast Region)

This position focuses on the leadership and coordination of URS' Coastal and Eco-System Restoration Practice in the Gulf Coast and Upper Mississippi including: responsibility for growth and staff development of coastal and eco-system restoration personnel; leadership/coordination of coastal and eco-system restoration-related marketing and business development; and client/project/quality/service management of coastal and eco-system restoration-related project work.

Specific duties would include:

* Growing URS' overall coastal and eco-system business in the Gulf Coast Region through the leadership and coordination of business development efforts (including marketing, SOQ, and proposal efforts) of URS personnel in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. Specific focus in this effort should be placed on:

* Developing specific strategies for increasing URS' market share in the Coastal and Eco-system restoration Business in the Gulf Coast Region;

* Tracking key target water clients (and major opportunities) and developing and implementing strategies and tactical plans for capturing and growing business with them; and

* Leading/assisting in identifying, tracking, positioning, and pursuing major project opportunities.

* Increasing URS' visibility in the coastal and eco-system restoration business through active participation in state and national organizations, and by performing high quality work;

* Identifying and developing new, leading edge capabilities, and/or recruiting key personnel that would enhance the firm's competitiveness and growth in the coastal and eco-system restoration business in this region;

* Actively participating in project work through service as Project Principal, Senior Consultant/Advisor, Project/Program Manager, and/or Project Peer Reviewer for wastewater projects; and

* Providing leadership and support to URS' Firm-wide Water Resources Business Line through active participation in annual firm wide meetings, regular teleconferences, strategy development working sessions, and technical assistance on projects.
