Position Summary:
 
Accountable for the achievement of beverage AOP sales volume and operating profit objectives through Specialty Coffee Distribution and OCS/Vend channel operators within assigned geography. Direct responsibility for approx. 5mm lbs, $3mm NSV,  $500k GP. Responsible for the development of new and existing OCS/Vend and Specialty Coffee Distribution and sales of Sara Lee Beverage products to key OCS and Foodservice end users within assigned geography. Executes AOP sales plans, initiatives and strategies for Specialty Distribution/OCS/Vend Channel within assigned geography.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops and successfully implements a regional sales strategy aligned with Sara Lee's overall Beverage BU Management Initiatives to achieve profitable beverage category volume growth through Specialty Coffee/Route Distribution and in the OCS/Vend channel within assigned geography.

  • Collaborates with Sr. Mgr. Regional Sales and VP Beverage sales to develop and implement the sales strategy for their respective region.

  • Executes sales initiatives and retention efforts against key national, non-commercial and independent operators and OCS/Specialty Coffee distributor partners as defined by Sara Lee.

  • Executes special sales strategies within market as needed to maintain key product/volume emphasis. (DE One Touch/Dunkin Donuts Alliance).

  • Effectively manages and negotiates trade spending, T&E and capital budgets to achieve overall beverage category sales and profit objectives.

  • Manages equipment placements within geography to ensure volume thru-put expectations are met.

  • Deal at the highest levels with customers within geography and maintains key industry contacts with other manufacturers and trade associations.

  • Develop strong relationships and partnerships with key OCS/Vend operators and Specialty Coffee distributors and end user operators within Region.

  • Prepares and conducts quarterly business reviews with key OCS/Vend operators and Specialty Coffee Distributors.  Negotiates local distributor marketing/trade programs.

  • Develops strong working relationships/collaborates effectively with key cross functional partners in the marketing, service, supply chain and finance organizations in order to meet the volume and profit goals for the beverage business unit.

 


  • College degree preferred.

  • Minimum 3-5 years food sales management experience, foodservice experience required.

  • Direct sales management experience.

  • Results orientation to volume and profit.  Ability to translate corporate direction into field activity. 

  • Strong computer skills particularly in relation to analyzing sales data and trade management systems.

  • Must be able to travel as needed.
