Experience and Skills:

Job Description: Provide engineering/facilities services support to company facilities operations accounts throughout the United States, predominately in a region. Support will include assessment of operations and building systems, policy and procedure implementation, CMMS implementation, presentations to prospective clients, on-site start up of operations, financial management of accounts, staff training and development, client and vendor relations and various administrative duties.

Major Job Duties (Essential Functions):

  • Provide assessment of facility operations for existing and potential accounts.
  • Work with various energy management systems to identify optimum efficiency levels.
  • Identify and recommend solutions to issues involving building operations, construction and daily maintenance of the accounts.
  • Implement and monitor CMMS in accounts.
  • Provide facility operations support to on-site managers.
  • Establish and maintain excellent communication channels with the clients.
  • Train, coach and motivate subordinates.
  • Prepare reports and action plans for joint review meetings with client.
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts for accounts.
  • Assist in bid preparations and presentations.
  • Lead or assist in deferred maintenance studies.
  • Take active role in sales presentations.
  • Have working knowledge of custodial operations.
  • Minor Duties:

  • Implementation of GCAware inspection program.
  • Involvement in union negotiations.
  • Track receivables.
  • Minimum Qualifications for Consideration:

    • B.S. degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred). Experience in colleges and universities, K-12 schools or specialized industry desirable.  Have working knowledge of custodial operations. Must be willing to travel 50-75% of the time.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Minimum of 5 years practical experience in facilities management, custodial operations, building systems (HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and CMMS implementation.
    • Requires broad knowledge of all phases of building operations, construction and maintenance.
    • Must possess strong communication skills.
    • Strong sense of urgency; self-directed.
    • Excellent employee relations and coaching skills.
    • Must have working knowledge of all pertinent laws and regulations.
    • Must be willing to travel up to 50-75% of the time.
