Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Regional Medicine Manager to join our Cardiovascular team located in Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia.  As a Regional Medicine Manager, you will support the strategic scientific direction of Boehringer Ingelheim (BI) with the provision of clinical and scientific information/data to health professionals via scientific exchanges/presentations, primarily with defined Opinion Leaders. These exchanges, derived from validated scientific platforms designed and developed by Boehringer Ingelheim Medical Affairs, will provide the necessary background for health professionals to make good sound clinical decisions in the treatment of their patients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

  • Identify and evaluate Opinion Leaders following approved HSS processes, e.g., Strategic Opinion Leader Identification and Development (SOLID).

  • Plan, conduct, and appropriately document scientific exchanges with Opinion Leaders and other healthcare practitioners which are supported by evidence-based medicine that are in alignment with each respective therapeutic area’s scientific platform and relevant to Boehringer Ingelheim.

  • Go Local Initiative (GLI) responsibilities

  • Following scientific exchanges, determine the clinical/scientific importance of that discussion as it relates to the focus points of the scientific platform, and initiate transfer of knowledge through the appropriate communication process and channels within the organization, e.g. Key Exchange Group (KEG).

  • Work with Opinion Leaders and regional healthcare professionals to review, evaluate and subsequently address any/all medical needs in alignment with the scientific platforms.

  • Attend/participate in approved scientific congresses/meetings interpreting scientific information and contributing to review presentations as necessary.

  • Provide unsolicited presentations to medical teaching institutions, e.g., residency/fellowship programs, managed markets, internal colleagues, other qualified medical venues, etc.

  • Perform all Company business in accordance with all regulations (e.g. EEO, FDA, OSHA, PDMA, EPA, PhRMA, etc.) and Company policies and procedures. When violations are noted/observed they are immediately reported to management. Demonstrate high ethical and professional standards with all business contacts in order to maintain BIPI’s reputation within the medical and pharmaceutical community.

 
 
REQUIREMENTS:
 

  • Requires an advanced clinical/technical degree (DO, MD,PharmD/RPh, PhD, MS, PA/NP).

  • Combination of 0-2 years experience in healthcare related field and/or 3-5 years sales experience.

  • Ability to maintain excellent relationships.

  • Ability to travel up to 75% depending upon geography.
