Responsible for supporting reimbursement and reimbursement initiatives for Cochlear America’s products. Primary responsibilities include developing and maintaining relationships with customers to create reimbursement/funding successes; working to facilitate positive coverage policies for company products and resolution of issues; and collaborative efforts for training and resolution of reimbursement concerns.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide input regarding strategic and short-term plans, future coding, reimbursement and clinical evidence needs.
2. Partner with the field team at the territory and regional level to provide customer support and execute reimbursement strategy and tactics
3. Provide technical expertise in regards to coding, coverage policies, and other reimbursement related matters.
4. Track and report provider and payer regional trends and developments to support strategic and tactical planning.
5. In collaboration with OMS, coordinate efforts to assist with customer issues regarding preauthorization, coding, coverage, and appeals.
6. Provide input to the development of reimbursement materials and tools for customers and the field team.
7. Identify the educational needs of new/established customers and the field team, provide relevant education/training programs and follow-up support or training as needed.
8. Develop and maintain hospital and clinic administrator relations.
9. Travel as required;
10. Other duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
College graduate. At least 3-5 years overall healthcare experience required. Work experience in the healthcare, insurance and reimbursement field with particular emphasis in coverage and reimbursement policy development. Must have thorough understanding and working knowledge of managed care, health care economics, payer business practices, health policy development and advocacy. Must possess 1) excellent customer services skills, 2) excellent deductive skills, 3) very strong written and verbal communications skills, and 4) proficient computer skills including Internet research. Must be motivated, detail and deadline oriented, and organized. Clinical experience desirable.
