Our client is a growing and innovative international manufacturer of food products.  With USA HQ in Philadelphia, the parent company was established in 1979 and is now a leader in its category with new products and a global patent portfolio, over 800 employees, and $200 million in annual turnover.

Our client is further expanding into the Southeast USA market and has an opportunity for a Regional Sales Manager with solid knowledge of the deli space at grocery chains and of the local market conditions in the SE. Work from home when not on the road meeting with customers. Overnight travel estimated to be 50% on average.  The successful candidate will report to the VP Sales.   Local candidates only please - no relocation.

Main responsibilities:

• Develop new business relationships for our company within the food industry, creating new clients as well as provide customer service to existing clients.
•  Support the existing clients (retailers) in store (merchandising, in-store promos etc)
• Be a resource to our customers as well as help address inquiries and bring resolution to customer needs
• Maintain immediate, short-term and long-term strategic action plans.
• Utilize proactive and progressive sales techniques to establish a pipeline of potential new customers and new targets in the industry.
• Incorporate direct and indirect marketing strategies.
• Eventually lead a team of sales and after-sales people that will be created and trained with the support from the HQ.
• Manage 1-2 Merchandisers

To be considered for this career opportunity you must have the following:

• A Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university
• A minimum of 3 years outside sales experience calling on grocery chain purchasing managers in the meat or deli space (Publix, Kroger, Piggly Wiggly, Bi-Lo, Bruno’s, Food Lion, etc.)  
• Demonstrated excellent presentation skills, professionalism, and an awareness of customer service.
• Be a self-starter with drive, energy, and commitment to growth and success.
• Ability and desire to travel and see customers.
