Regional Sales Manager - Food Ingredients/Nutrition Ingredients

Description: International food/nutritional ingredients company is looking to fill a critical sales position in the Chicago area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a global organization that is logistically strong and well situated in the international trading/distributing of food ingredients. The company has an excellent product line, stocking locations across the country, and a strong account base. This position will be challenging, strategic, and an excellent growth opportunity. It's also an excellent income opportunity. Overnight travel is expected to be 25%.
Responsibilities: Sell a broad range of food & nutritional ingredients to food and nutraceutical manufacturing accounts. The sales territory is the Upper Midwest States (MN, WI, IA, MO, IL, IN, MI, OH). Manage all existing accounts and business in the territory. Call on large and mid-sized accounts. Become knowledgeable of all the products. Manage pricing and contracts. Communicate effectively with all internal and external parties (suppliers, customer service, customers, etc.). Develop and execute the territory strategy. Add new accounts and grow sales. Travel overnight as needed.
Requirements: 3 plus years of food ingredients sales experience in the territory. Must have knowledge of the food ingredients market in the Upper Midwest. A self starter who is motivated to succeed. Ability to work well with others. Good communication skills. Good organization and time management skills. Ability to sell and build strong business relationships. A past track record of sales success.
Desired: 3 plus years of food ingredients sales experience. Knowledge of the food ingredients market in the Upper Midwest. An ingredients distribution background. A self starter who can take the ball and run with it.
