Regional Sales Manager

Title:                     Regional Sales Manager


Reports To:          National Sales Manager – Hubbell Building Automation, Inc.


 


Accountability Objective:


 


The Regional Sales Manager shall be responsible for sales and profits within the assigned geographic territory.  Sales and promotion of products through lighting agents to distribution, specification, national accounts, end users and ESCO’s and then exceed sales quotas.


 


Principal Accountabilities:


 



  1. Prepare and implement a Business Development Plan to achieve sales and profit objectives established in conjunction with Hubbell Building Automation, Inc. (HBA) management. The plan should include target accounts to be focused on each year.
  2. Recommend the selection of independent sales representatives to HBA
  3. Train, motivate, direct and control the activities of the sales representatives as they relate to HBA products and services.
  4. Select distributors.
  5. Train, motivate agent and distributor sales people to sell HBA products.
  6. Prepare proposals and sell projects to major end users in conjunction with the agent representatives.
  7. Maintain contact with consulting engineers, contractors and utility representatives.
  8. Prepare and perform presentations to all levels of the sales chain.
  9. Ensure leads generated by advertising, publicity and telemarketing activities are exploited.
  10. Participate in Trade Shows and industry group activities.
  11. Maintain association memberships and participate in their activities as approved by company management.
  12. Study and become completely conversant with all product manuals and publications.
  13. Obtain and supply the company with intelligence related to market conditions and competitive products.
  14. Provide management with recommendations for new products, product improvements, sales promotion programs and customer service enhancements.
  15. Communicate to management all issues, problems, results, and successes that effect territory.
  16. Demonstrate leadership qualities through exemplary work ethic and selling skills.
  17. Demonstrate excellent time management skills and maintain accurate account records.
  18. Maintain company equipment and sales samples to insure professional appearance.
  19. Maintain professional personal appearance.
  20. Other duties as assigned.

Reports directly to the HBA National Sales Manager.

Education & Experience:


 


Must have a four-year college degree with 2-5 years industry experience or high school degree with 5-7 years industry experience.  Must have strong communication skills with a proven track record of consistently exceeding sales quota and year over year sales growth.  Must be capable of selling and promoting technical electronic products through several types of sales channels. Must be willing to travel.
