Regional Sales Manager

About the Job


This position is accountable for the attainment of regional sales results consistent with budgetary objectives.  Incumbent is responsible to properly focus activities of Account Executives by identifying and targeting strategic accounts and securing multi-location business.  A key responsibility is to assess and develop the skill level of ITU Account Executives.  This includes hands-on training, coaching, support and implementation of training plans with this team.


 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


 


1.     Monitor and assess Account Executives' overall job performance to assure that desired sales results and customer relationship quality objectives are attained.  Assure that high, wide and deep relationships are established and maintained. 


2.     Research and identify accounts consistent with business strategy. Develop and communicate target accounts to Account Executives.  Assure that Account Executive activities are properly focused to produce strategic wins of the appropriate industry, size and value systems.


3.     Develop and implement sales coaching and training plans for new business and account relationship management to support attainment of revenue objectives.  Conduct all personal and individualized field training for Account Executives. 


4.     Assure that account retention and renewal objectives are attained.  Maintains customer jeopardy board for accounts and assists Account Executives to develop and implement effective retention action plans.


5.     Review proposals including pricing and contract terms to help assure account profitability goals are maintained. Manage key accounts as required following the guidelines. 


6.     Review and approve commission payouts to help assure consistent application of compensation plan. 


7.     Ensure that all phases of sales contact management software are updated and effectively utilized.


8.     Implement and maintain reward and recognition programs for top performers.  Manage the improvement process for underperformers as required.


9.     Manage expenses and budgets with sound and ethical fiscal judgment.


10.  Participate in the planning and implementation of key marketing support objectives including: Development of Sales and Promotional Materials, Sales Promotions, Key Account Prospect Presentations, Product and Process Marketing Strategies, and supplemental product promotions, including Direct Sales and First Aid supplies. 


11.  Assist in developing and conducting weekly, monthly and quarterly sales meetings. Participate in business planning meetings as required for monthly operations review meetings and strategic plan reviews.


12.  All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by immediate supervisor.
