Position Description...

The RVP-Sales and Customer Relations will be responsible for the motivation and development of assigned sales team, with the objective of guiding them to meet goals and objectives.  This position will serve as a knowledge leader and resource in sales, credit and financial services, providing agricultural and financial expertise, supporting and encouraging farm visits and sales, facilitating appropriate training initiatives, and building sales processes.

 

This position reports to the SVP-Sales and Customer Relations and has 11-18 direct reports. 

 

Primary Responsibilities...

  • The incumbent is responsible for Sales Leadership, Risk and Sales Management, and Performance Management/Staffing within an assigned region.
  • Initiate action and direct the activities of assigned sales team including Loan Officers, Crop Insurance Agents and Financial Services sales team towards the accomplishment of their goals.
  • Clearly assigns responsibilities and tasks and establishes effective controls to monitor progress.
  • Work closely with direct reports to provide hands on coaching and counseling in the areas of customer needs analysis and service, relationship building, improved credit skills and additional industry expertise.
  • Evaluates employees, provides performance feedback and facilitates professional growth.
  • Staff selection, motivation and development, establish performance goals and monitor performance results.
  • Act as a resource to the Sales Team to build on their expertise in the sales management, leadership, and team building.

Position Requirements...

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business administration, finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of seven years of progressively more challenging business experience.
  • Verifiable sales management and large or commercial credit training is preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in farm production and financial management and knowledge pertinent to the geographical region or territory. 
  • Strong leadership and team building ability to motivate and develop the sales team.
