ED Nurse
 
Emergency room nurses play more than a medical role during a trauma. When things are at their most frantic and urgent, you’re the rock that patients and their families lean on.
 
At Baylor, our nurses are empowered to make decisions that improve patient care. We are committed to a shared leadership model that encourages all staff nurses to be actively involved in setting the clinical policies and procedures for their unit.
 
Baylor’s ED nurses prescribe, delegate, coordinate and deliver patient care. They ensure that patient care meets our high standards of safety, effectiveness, patient rights and guest relations. They supervise care delivered by the patient care team, coordinate the plan of care, educate patients and staff and collaborate with other disciplines. Our ED nurses are decisive, confident and accustomed to a very fast-paced emergency department environment.
 
Our largest hospital, Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas, is a Level I trauma center, and the Emergency Department there recently underwent a $53 million expansion, tripling its size to 78,000 square feet. Baylor Grapevine’s ED also is newly expanded to 23,300 square feet, and some other EDs around the system are growing as well.
 
Baylor Garland is the third busiest ED in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. In 2007, there were 278,570 visits to emergency rooms throughout the Baylor system.
 
Emergency services are available at our system hospitals in Dallas, Fort Worth, Garland, Grapevine, Irving, Plano and Waxahachie.

Requirements
If you are an RN with an associate degree or equivalent (preferably a bachelor’s degree), a minimum of one year of nursing experience, current CPR / CLS / ACLS certification required and recent ER experience, consider joining Baylor.
