Baylor Health Care System is a not-for-profit, faith-based healthcare system with many care locations in the Dallas-Ft. Worth community.
Research Nurse
As a research nurse at Baylor, you’ll help bring research from the lab to the bedside – and you’ll enjoy the thrill of being part of a world-renowned research team.
Baylor has long been committed to promoting research on its campuses. Baylor Research Institute (BRI) identifies and pursues unique research opportunities. The BRI staff works with all Baylor staff to develop and promote medical research from the bench to the patient. Assisting staff in contract negotiations of clinical trials and identifying funding opportunities for research and inventions are part of the many services offered.
In addition, BRI’s goals are to advance knowledge of disease and its treatment, promote research in our clinical programs, have results of research promptly published in the top medical and scientific journals, and accept only high-quality research. Achieving these goals has elevated the academic environment at Baylor Health Care System.
Our research nurses support BRI, which conducts exciting patient-centered research in many clinical areas and is at the forefront of islet cell transplantation. BRI focuses on basic science, clinical trials and health care effectiveness and quality of care research.
Nurses are essential to the success of research at Baylor. Research nurses’ fundamental traits are using clinical knowledge and skills, along with critical thinking, communication and organizational ability to implement multi-faceted research projects. They assist principal investigators in conducting clinical trials according to federal, state and institutional guidelines, from pre-study implementation to closure.
When you work for Baylor, your growth opportunities are endless. Currently, BRI is conducting more than 700 research studies, spanning more than 20 medical specialties.
We have career opportunities for research nurses at BRI in Dallas and Baylor All Saints Medical Center at Fort Worth. Research nurses often work day shift, but flexible scheduling is sometimes necessary in order to conduct protocol-required procedures.
