Pediatric Nurse
Baylor Health Care System does far more than provide patients with access to exemplary medical care. Each of our physicians, nurses and other clinicians creates an entire system devoted to improving people's lives.
Baylor's nurses are empowered to make decisions that improve patient care. We are committed to a shared leadership model that encourages all staff nurses to be actively involved in setting the clinical policies and procedures for their unit.
Our pediatric nurses work at Our Children's House at Baylor in Dallas, a restored Victorian house that provides a unique environment for young patients. This innovative hospital comforts and supports children with special needs who are recovering from an illness or injury as they prepare to return home from a conventional medical facility. Our nurses are part of a multidisciplinary team that provides treatment for traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, respiratory illnesses and minor surgical procedures. Our Children's House also offers one of only eight pediatric feeding programs in the country.
Working in a supportive environment, our pediatric nurses use their strong assessment and decision-making skills to prescribe, delegate, coordinate and deliver patient care, ensuring that care meets our high standards of safety, effectiveness, patient rights and guest relations. They also supervise the care delivered by the patient care team, coordinate care plans, educate patients and their families and collaborate with other disciplines.
We have career opportunities available for all levels of pediatric nurses on all shifts, including Two-Day Alternative, weekdays, nights and PRN.
