Job Description
Reimbursement Analyst
Facility: Scottsdale Healthcare Campus - Osborn, Scottsdale AZ
Department: Revenue Services (708820)
- Full-Time - 8am-4:30pm
- Days

Under the direction of the Manager of Revenue Services, the Reimbursement Analyst is primarily responsible for the coordination, preparation and filing of the System's five Medicare cost reports, which include three Acute Care Hospital and two Home Office reports.  The position will analyze and advise facility administrators via impact analyses, and follow up on proposed or new changes in legislation that would affect the funding of health care facilities and its service lines.  The position acts as a key facilitator in the education of hospital departments regarding government compliance, Medicare laws and reimbursement issues and is responsible for research and evaluation of Medicare laws for the incorporation into the System's operating policies and procedures to optimize reimbursement.  Compiles and submits wage index and occupational mix data.   Functions as primary contact for audit of cost reports by third-party payers.  Complete IRIS in accurate and timely manner for teaching hospital cost report.  Maintain current knowledge of third-party regulations.

Aspects of the role will require extensive data mining and abstracting of financial and clinical information from various decision support tools for, but not limited to, charge master support, revenue and reimbursement analyses, and ad hoc reporting needs of department.

***Medicare Cost reporting background preferred***

Basic Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related area with an emphasis in accounting or finance

Basic Experience

Requires 5 years of accounting and reimbursement experience the majority of which is directly related to hospital cost report filing

Basic Field-of-Expertise

5 years hospital cost reporting for teaching facility and Disproportionate Share hospital
