Renal Dietician

Description:
Provide nutritional services for the facility's in-center and home patients as applicable in order to maximize the patient's nutritional status and improve clinical outcomes. Assess patient's knowledge of diet and kidney disease and provide education regarding their relationship and impact on the treatment process; provide patient specific detailed education to patient and family regarding nutritional status, adequacy measures and results, and all nutrition related lab parameters related to their disease process; complete nutritional assessments and progress notes on all chronic renal patients according to established guidelines. Document all appropriate information in medical record according to established company policies and government regulations; collaborate with physicians and nursing staff; monitor patient adherence and response to nutrition therapy; and participate in multidisciplinary care plan program.
A Bio Medical Applications of California. position.

Education: Master's Degree, or equivalent, in Dietetics or Nutrition, including courses in medical nutritional therapy and food service system management
Registered Dietitian, as per Commission on Dietetic Registration

Experience: At least two years in clinical nutrition as a Dietitian, including leadership role
Skills: Assess patients' nutritional risk and evaluate nutritional status re: need for future intervention; teach diabetic classes; provide nutritional counseling and education; serve as member of interdisciplinary team.
