Leading Manufacturer/Distributor located in New Jersey, minutes from Philadelphia, is seeking a experienced Buyer for its Corporate location.  The successful candidate will have working knowledge of MRP and Time Phased Planning as well as forecasting and inventory planning experience.

Responsibilities:

• Implements inventory policy based on targeted period of supply for inventory cycle and safety stock.
•  Responds to replenishment system suggestions, reviews for exceptions and determines buy quantities for Purchasing.
•  Balances inventory between warehouse locations taking into consideration freight and delivery schedules from suppliers.
•  Monitors new item introductions closely and adjusts supply / forecast accordingly.
•  Responds to sales inquiries for availability on large quantity orders and customer critical requirements.
•  Key interface with Purchasing identifying most critical items in short supply and initiating escalation with suppliers.

Experience: 

• Five years of replenishment or related supply chain experience in a B2B environment.
•  Success demonstrated in fast paced, multiple priority environment.
•  Experience managing supply planning for thousands of skus in a multiple warehouse environment.
•  Experience with long lead time supply planning and execution.
•  Manufacturing experience a plus.

Required skills:

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel including pivot tables.
•  Microsoft Access working knowledge including database creation a plus.
•  MRP/DRP system queries and transactions.
