Responsibilities vary with the position and include:
• Performing prospective and retrospective health services, health outcomes, and epidemiologic research activities under the direction of the project manager.
• Supporting research activities in statistical analyses, statistical expertise, reporting and communication of results. Additional activities involve study design, proposal development and contributing to research methods.
• Collaborating with project managers to support the research functions that bring high quality reports, peer-reviewed publications, presentations to clients and at professional meetings, and other milestones to fruition.
• Utilizing industry standard as well as cutting-edge biostatistical and/or health economic analytical techniques.
Qualifications:
This position requires a bachelors, masters or doctoral level degree or relevant education and/or equivalent training in health services research, epidemiology or a related field. Post-graduate or post-doctoral training or relevant experience in biostatistics, statistics or epidemiology with experience in health services research is strongly preferred. Experience with advanced statistical techniques, such as propensity score matching, multivariable statistical modeling, bootstrapping, signal detection, and/or Monte-Carlo techniques preferred. Strong study design, statistical analysis, and computing skills and proficiency (including programming) with one or more statistical applications (SAS, Stata) are required. Experience with health plan administrative databases (pharmacy and medical claims), economic modeling and/or data simulation would be beneficial.
