Research Assistant I Medicine Hematology

A FT Research Assistant position is available in the Department of Medicine/Hematology.  The assistant will functionally characterize novel genes that influence platelet reactivity and thrombosis.  The candidate will use molecular and cell biology, physiology, flow cytometry and possibly mouse models.

 

The candidate will perform or utilize:

  • DNA and various genomic databases
  • molecular biology, DNA engineering, PCR
  • tissue culture/transfection experiments
  • reporter gene assays
  • protein evaluation (immunoblotting, IPs)
  • mouse genetics and breeding mice
  • platelet physiology

 

The candidate will have at least 3-5 years basic research experience with a broad array of technical expertise, especially molecular and cellular biology. MS or Post-graduate degree required. Bioinformatics experience will be viewed very positively.
