Research Assistant

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under supervision, performs
operational statistical analysis and data processing tasks for assigned testing
programs.

Reviews results of statistical and psychometric analyses for
accuracy under supervision.

Monitors the completion of the tasks
identified in the context of the processing schedule.

Under supervision,
creates datasets, codes parameters for psychometric programs from existing
templates (e.g., WINSTEPS, MULTILOG), and submits programs for
execution.

Drafts standard statistical reports and assists in the
preparation of complex reports.

Prepares and checks critical information
for score reporting, tables, and figures for statistical procedures,
documentation, and reports.

Updates and drafts routine statistical
procedures and other documents for assigned testing programs and projects under
supervision of more senior staff in psychometric services.

Updates and
runs routine statistical analyses using SAS and other programming
packages

Assists in preparing program documentation, updates and
maintains statistical files and operational data file for assigned programs and
projects.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
A bachelors degree with course work
in applied and/or mathematical statistics preferred; or two years of job
experience in a related quantitative field with similar duties and
responsibilities.

Knowledge of and experience with one or more computer
programming or statistical analysis languages (e.g., C++, Visual Basic, Java,
SAS, SPSS, etc.).

Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, Excel,
PowerPoint)

Ability to work independently in a quantitative setting.

detail.
