Research Assistant
The Research Assistant working in the Pathology/Clinical Molecular Biology Department, under supervision and following established policies and procedures, conducts experiments using in vivo/or in vitro techniques. Performs minor surgery on animals. Operates monitoring equipment; collects and analyzes data using statistical methodology. Reviews literature in the field for informational purposes or to gather data.

Requirements:
Completion of a Bachelor of Science Degree in the scientific field off the research being conducted.
Requires a working knowledge of statistics, computer programming and research methodology.
Requires a professional level of knowledge of the scientific field germane to the research being conducted.
Three to six months related experience.
PREFERRED: Experience in molecular techniques, such as PCR, Handling embedded tissue specimens, Microsoft and Adobe software, Experience with flourescence in situ hybridization, real-time PCR and DNA sequencing.
