Responsibilities:
•Perform physical examinations according to approved protocols and Clinical Medicine SOPs.
•Oversee observations and treatments performed by technical staff.
•Respond to Veterinary Consults by examining the animal; making recommendations; communicating with the
Study Director; and following the case until resolution.
•Attend to emergencies that may occur within the building, or on the farms, and provide patient care, as needed.
•Consult with Study Directors and other employees on veterinary concerns.
•Perform procedures according to approved protocol by having detailed familiarization of the approved protocol
and applicable SOPs.
•Sign documentation (veterinary consults, protocol familiarizations, SOP reviews, training records, etc.) in a
consistent and timely manner.
•Review draft protocols, as needed.
•Monitor conduct of technical staff and visitors and contribute to a positive and constructive study experience for
the Sponsor.
•Completes all assigned events in validated system, 100% of the time.
•Punctual and reliable attendance according to MPI Research company policy.
Qualifications:
•DVM or equivalent degree obtained from an AVMA accredited institution with 0-5 years relevant experience.
•Licensure to practice veterinary medicine in at least one state, preferred.
•USDA accreditation, preferred.
•Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
•Computer skills, commensurate with Essential Functions and including ability to learn a validated system.
•Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, on-call hours, evenings, weekends, extended shifts and/or extra shifts, sometimes on short notice.
•Ability to work under specific time constraints.
